What to remember
Watch for signs that someone feels uncomfortable or unsafe.
Create a way for people to report concerns privately.
Know your organisation's safeguarding procedure.
During a workshop, keep an eye on how participants are feeling. Watch for signs that someone is uncomfortable, withdrawn, or upset. If you notice something, check in with them privately. Make sure people know how to report concerns — have a visible poster with the contact person. If someone reports a safeguarding issue, follow your organisation's procedure. Do not try to solve it yourself. Listen, document, and refer to the safeguarding officer.
