What to remember
The first minutes set the tone for the whole workshop.
Introduce yourself, the programme, and the ground rules.
Use a fun icebreaker so people get to know each other.
The first minutes of a workshop are the most important. They set the tone for everything that follows. Start by introducing yourself — who you are, why you are here. Then explain the programme: what will happen today. Agree on ground rules together. Then do an icebreaker activity so participants get to know each other. Keep it light and fun. People who feel comfortable at the start will participate more during the whole workshop.
