What to remember
1
Keep a visible clock or timer.
2
If an activity runs too long, decide: cut it short or skip something else.
3
Breaks are not optional — people need them.
Time management is one of the hardest skills for new facilitators. Use a visible timer or clock. Start on time, even if not everyone is ready. If an activity takes longer than planned, you have two choices: stop it and move on, or continue and skip something later. Plan which activities are essential and which are flexible. Never skip breaks — people need them for energy, for visual rest, and for social connection.
